dream, she sighed and dipped her wand in starlight
over the castle, the drawbridge, moat and all.
dream, she cried, a long, long time
and cast the scuttling days aside
all chandeliers must dim
and Time itself.
above the seeming waste of years
they slept.
beyond the reach of gossip, now and
untold calumny. a Kingdom preserved
beyond the stir of battle. a message
sealed in wax and waxen leaves that grew
and roses thorned to keep intruders out.
one day they will waken.
one day, to take their kingdom back
renew their crowns and joy itself will reign.
but now, sleep on through the winds and rains.
cloud breath suspended in the cold , cold air
promising only, snows
