a person can grow apart like a continental drift
a shifting of plates or float over time by
increments so that you do not notice at first
their shadow crumbling on the ground
and then you find
they're just no longer here
on a sunny day where clouds
were now there's only air, deep space,
in the few seconds
you looked away
you looked away
