while on the other hand a peach cummerbund
is knotted with purple, violet, hyacinth-
lilac lilac lilac
chanted the person to whom the story was told
and they're in slippers all of gold she piped
and it's the day before Christmas isn't it
and tomorrow the paper dolls in the shoebox
are going to get new dresses,
