it's cloudy sapphire streaked with gold
the forecast for that land of old
you used to travel but not now
with magic beans and brindled cow
and trade your trades
and plough your ploughs
and wonder wonder wonder
how do wishes grow;
will no one tell me?
but dead leaves float on wishing wells
and politicians cast pale spells
on anyone who ventures here
beyond the greening of their years
and critics scoff and in their ire
I see the pitchfork and the fire
and understand what I have lost
by leaving what could have no cost
in any market being rare and rose rose red
beyond compare
that searching searching everywhere
and calling through the sullen air
I will be till I find it.
