Maybe It's Not So Bad

what world is this at times I wonder
where they will withhold a word from you
because it is the one word

you wish to hear
they will hide it for years
so that you cannot find it

not even in Easter grass
not even when the winds pass over
from neighboring farms;

keeping you at arms length.
this is why you talk so much to God
who witholds nothing.

who hears everything.
even before you speak.
maybe it's not so bad, then,

as you think
