So Many Times We Have To Learn

so many times we have to learn
how to walk again
(as though we hadn't learned)

how not to trip

how not to hurt
when we fall
to laugh in the grass

though we feel so small

and start again
or cry on the pavement
without a friend

helped up by
God's invisible hand
and learn to stand

to see the sky without wobbling
to ask a million questions why, why
is everyting

so beautiful
