Let Us Be Kind

knowing how word bleeds into word
when colours soften over time and
after so many washings

let us be kind, from paragraph to paragraph
letting the golden spool unwind
and leaving no broken glass behind

to wound the reader
to unhinge the mind
seeking the consoling waters
