we who are fortunate to understand
the historical significance of being scammed
out of our lives, our hopes, our dreams, our youth
from seem to shining seem
know what it means when others come to the podium
wildly gesticulating:
that it is time to go;
to believe that God can speak to the individual soul
without permission from anyone here on earth
and that the soul can answer.
and that there are times when leaving
is the only righteous thing to do.
