A Sudden Gust

a sudden gust and something comes in
all lit up like Christmas or a Scandinavian folk tale
put the tea on

we'll need to remember this later.
one green shutter sailed off
then another

we felt like Dorothy pre oz
just missing the cellar
by that much

or it's the ghost of Christmas present
bubbling, bumbling back
confused by all the snow

it's January we whispered
and she removed her crown
of lovely candles

evergreen.
we will knit the time
so it won't unravel

let the coloured lights shine
above the snowy plains of earth...
