we were going to wear flowerdy dresses all the time
all the time
when we grew up
and rhinestone necklaces
every bit as good as diamonds
we reasoned back then
when we were almost twins
because, on special occasions
our Grandmother dressed us that way
we could play the day away
and under moonlight too
make up stories if they would have let us
do that.
we just crammed more in to the next day.
now I think
you know, that's not a bad way to live
as I smooth my flowerdy dress down
and eat more ice cream
than you could shake a peppermint stick at.
