we'll go out with tiny swords to wound him
the Dragon crunching up the neighborhood
but only if he comes to our backyard
and makes the dog bark good and hard
waking us up
we'll put on fluffy slippers
and our Christmas robes
and arms ourselves
with fruit flavored life savours
while the neighbors look on
thinking finally we wont have to buy
any more thin mints from them
in March.
come heck or high winds
we will defend
our fortress.
and the larch.
yes we will.
and all our learning
from the rumor mill, turning.
