I'm singing in a well and I'm pretty far down
and the stars float by
and a drift of sky
I'm singing in a well.
I'm singing in a well and I must confess
I wish I'd worn a different dress
and I'm singing in a well with a silver sound
and angels hear me far from town.
I'm singing in a well where blossoms float
pretending I'm swimming in a castle moat
and soon I'll reach the other side
or else wash up with the incoming tide.
I'm singing in a well.
I'm singing in a well
and there is no doubt
till God comes down
and pulls me OUT!
