NOTES FOR A PLAY I DON'T WANT TO BE IN VIS A VIS THE SIXTIES (FINAL VERSION)

they tried to ram it down our throats

the notion that Beauty should not be at all

except as a slogan for The Revolution

as if there had never been revolution before

only this one in short term memory stored

so raze it all at one blow: like the little tailor, you know,

who swatted all the flies at the jam pot assuring his Name.

anything to get out of class oh yay.

raze it to the ground don't hesitate

beauty truth and goodness down all rivers sold

and God is dead again, my Soul,

the doors bolted and locked. there's sorrow at the dock

King Arthur out to sea.

what should it mean to me the radical students

laconically say

the once and future

kings for a day it's not relevant,

they're sure in their element:

the social engineers or engineered

revert to amoeba consciousness each time you hear:

no more ivory towers;we just want the power

nothing gold can stay said Frost.

but I say Shakespeare isn't lost nor the Romantics

whatever antics are entertained

by the kings of all disposals

sifting 3 minute proposals
