how far the weather comes to find us
the song like an errant arrow of blue
that in the storm has lashed my soul to you only
Father, dreamer of us all
how far the stars and yet
we remember them so emphatically in daylight
when the moon fades out from the blue
how far the light comes to find us through the glooms
the green mists parting
the Light in your pronunciation
has stirred the whirlpools of our sleep
and fastened the falls of music to the rock cliffs
where they tumble, cascading forever
over the precipice we were so afraid of.
