FABULOUS WEDDING WITH NO FLOWERS

when there is a lack of coherence in the world
as if everything were reflected in a rain puddle
watercoloured, slightly out of focus
attached to a carnival mirror
and things formerly standing up on their own
are fallen to the side, rolled off and are
somewhere in the Bermuda triangle
under the household shelves
I realize time is a figment of sorts
let me check the files;
I think we have something like that in lilac...
you could be anywhere right now
and not even notice that
the stage setting has changed;
familiar trees seem somehow younger
even twigs
and the stars loom larger
and Galileo is over the hill, the next castle over
while we eat potato salad that is out of this world
and at the old prices.
I dont know.
maybe growing older, you slip in and out of Time
and no one notices you on your strange errands
when you left
and when you came back
collecting the ice cold milk bottles off the porch
after the wedding with no flowers
in your silver invisibility cloak
making strides, mending the planet.
with your drugstore sewing kit.
in your Chinese embroidered robe;
the shoes with the pom poms.
