WHAT WAS EVER THAT BEAUTIFUL
What was ever that beautiful
From our own imaginations alone as
To be suspended between Heaven and Earth
A blue and jade and cloudy marvelous marble
Where we live
From birth
Until invisible kingdoms come
Despite all calamaties
That can befall
The primrose laden beginnings
Or not at all
Cutting our way
Through the underbrush of Time
And time before us stretching in a semi jeweled maze
Behind us, mapping the starlight that was and is
Still sending us messages
Which we truly cannot decipher
On our own.
All this, and dreamscapes too,
Our home.
Our earth
Our cross
Where those we love in time
Will disappear
And our redemption
When we will see
Each other, clear
Through all the mists
And vagaries
Joyous forever
Startled into Life Eternal.
