As You Are Or Were In Chalks With A Light Blue Glaze

you run off in your white dress pale slippers
in something like a ballet
to hear the wind blow through the trees

since that reminds you of your father's house on Sundays
and of the movie Heidi, certain scenes,
and it takes time to calm down

from that much radiance, music.
you feel so light as if you could
so easily be

the ballerina up on point shoes
deliberating
is there gravity

i don't know the words
I only sing soaring
till the notes break off

fine crystals.
if only turning now, you could turn into
such snow as you were then

with lilies in your hand
without the least understanding
of the portraits of Art Noveau

the detailing on the lamp
that lights your household
not your home among the stars.
