I favor the singers who step aside
and let the song shine through
becoming pure music
on their own
clear as air
letting the starlight through
to hear a song sung that way
is rare now
though not impossible
the birds know how
never missing a note
the nightingale,
bringing tears to the Emperor's eyes.
