what is the planet I'm living on
libraries discard sheer bars of gold
doing whatever the nonsense
they're told
so we in the hinterlands
measure the space
that's left on the shelves
where the jewels were erased
and shore up our libraries
here at home
to feast at the table
that's been disowned.
