Poem In Deep Winter/Dream Of The Baker's Daughter

white chocolate shredded snows enhanced
the Cake of her dreams
but it tasted like pink and green
with a hint of the orange

you drew out of the Christmas stocking toe
thinking gifts were over now.
oh may it snow in candied wonder
for those who are famished
over long time

who yearn for the trumpets and the silver
flourish: their names in silver (edible) beads
across blue silks of a summer sky
